In case you haven't noticed (which you probably didn't), I have not been blogging lately. For the past couple of weeks, actually. I've been on a busy schedule, and my editorial calendar just didn't have the power to dominate my personal calendar (bad habit?). I have been busy, and I even got sick for a few days, and by the time my day is over I'm way too tired to even think about writing. I'm trying my best to switch my schedule around these days so that I can make time to write more often. Because today, I realized when I don't write for a while, things pile up that I'd like to share. So, here's the past couple of weeks in a little nutshell.
March 7th was my dad's birthday. We celebrated by making an afternoon trip to Grand Rapids, ate at Old Chicago for some pizza (the pizza above is my personal pizza with bleu cheese, black and green olives. YUMMM), and went to the mall to let him pick out stuff for his birthday. We had a good day as a family, and the next day, continued the celebration with a homemade chocolate cake!
I very recently adopted a new love for making Mala beads (prayer beads). They are so much fun to make, and very cute. I like to make some that are not like the traditional mala beads, to put my own personal touch to them. The one you see above is one of the many that I've made over the past two weeks! I'm hoping to make more and sell them on Etsy soon, so keep a lookout for those!!!
Our dogs (Albus is on the left, Luke is on the right) also got fixed last week! It was something that has been put off probably longer than it should have, but I'm just glad it's finally done. They got trained for the wireless electric fence earlier this week, and got separate crates to sleep in now that they're bigger. Next step, is to train them to stop chewing on everything they see!
I took a train ride across the state to visit my boyfriend, Teagan (pictured way up there at that beginning of my post), and spent almost a week there with his family. We were blessed with great weather during my visit, so Teagan, his little brother Dalton, and I went into the woods and built a teepee fort out of sticks! This is something I used to do with my cousins back on the farm, and I was more than happy to bring back my childhood. I also couldn't resist asking Teagan to take a picture of me doing yoga under the fort, because come on, how serene is it to sit in a teepee in the middle of nature!
Oh yeah, and we saw Cinderella too. Which was very good considering they stayed extremely true to the old Disney Cinderella movie! So if you're a Disney movie fan, I recommend you go see it!

Train rides are one of my favorite ways to travel. They're usually quiet, and way more comfortable than a car or an airplane. So, I'm lucky that my boyfriend lives close enough to take an easy hour and a half train ride to and from, rather than too far that I'd have to fly or ride in a car for way longer than I'd like. I'd say as far as long distance relationships go, Teagan and I have the best of it. It's still hard, but I remind myself every now and then how lucky we are that we're able to see each other about once a month, instead of a few times a year.
Now that I'm back home, I've been back on my babysitting schedule. Babysitting is probably the best job there is. Yeah, the hours aren't totally consistent, but whenever I can babysit, it's super fun. Both kids have no problem telling me what they want to do, and are open to my ideas as well. They're like the little siblings I never had, and I love watching them grow with every day! And later today, I'll be having a sleepover with the oldest, Lucy, at my house! We're both very excited and plan to have a wonderful first day of Spring together!
Happy Spring, everyone, and God bless!
