Battle Creek. A small town in Western Michigan. Almost equal in size to Kalamazoo, definitely bigger than Hickory Corners, and not nearly as dangerous as Flint, but still more dangerous than Downtown Kalamazoo (or so I've heard). And Finally, it is now a show coming to you on CBS, Sunday March 1st at 10/9pm c.
Whenever I get you to stop staring at Josh Duhamel up there, I can get you to read about my reccomendation. Do I have your attention yet? Good.... This past Tuesday, I had the pleasure of attending the World Premier of Battle Creek IN Battle Creek (only a half hour away from my home in Hick-Town). My cousin, Kathryn, was super lucky and happened to score free tickets to the biggest event ever to hit the town. What better place to unveil the pilot than BC??
The auditorium filled with people dressed in their better-than-Sunday attire (although my cousin pointed out a man wearing a tuxedo-printed t-shirt. He was winning Best Dressed in my book). Finally, the lights dimmed and the screening rolled. The first scene already had the entire venue echoing in laughter. The biggest reaction from the audience, however, was when the opening credits rolled on real footage of our precious Michigan town. Locals boomed in applause and cheering as we recognized the streets and local businesses. Scene after scene, I was drawn in, even more impressed than I ever expected to be.
Needless to say, Battle Creek is going to be an amazing show. It was belly-laugh-worthy, and edge-of-your-seat thrilling. This is saying a lot coming from me, because I haven't been able to fall in love with a new crime show since Dexter. I was also never drawn to a crime-comedy that made me laugh out loud as much as the witty Chuck. Shows these days, just never could grasp my full attention. I will absolutely keep up with each new episode every Sunday night, and I suggest that you do too.
