As an amateur writer, I always look for opportunities to improve my writing. As I was sipping my hot green tea, I began to browse the internet. I was trying to figure out [free] ways to further my writing career, and I came across the Daily Post blog. This site was a gem. It had many helpful tips about writing and beginning a blog.
Looking through the pages on their site, I stumbled upon their free ebooks. Hey, free? I'll take 'em. I was eager to download them to my computer, and I stayed up until the wee little hours in the morning to read them. One of their ebooks is called "365 Days of Writing Prompts" which is designed to give you a challenge, to improve your writing skills, and to give you a year-round editorial for your blog.
Okay, let's be realistic. I probably won't use every single writing prompt in the book, and I most certainly won't find the time to write these prompts every day. But what I will do, is pick out ones that I want to write about. Ones that interest me. I may not even do these in order, but I'll cross them off as I go along. I also figured that this would be a nice little push if I ever find myself with a severe case of the dreaded writers' block.
Finding this little tool makes me excited. I know it can help me, and if you want to join in on the fun, the ebook is right on their website blog for download. They also have awesome blogging and photography events to expose your work to help gain more traffic to your blog, if that kind of stuff matters to you.
So to keep things interesting, you might find one of the writing prompts on here, and you never know what you're going to get. This should be fun for me and my readers (hopefully). To new challenges!!
